Windows Vista

Well here I am, Mr Guest Blogger so for the first blog lets do something rather boring and low key!!!

In recent weeks we’ve seen the release of Windows Vista, having only used the BETA version which was rather slyly downloaded from a *cough* torrent *cough* I cannot comment on it’s useability but I have to admit it does look rather sexual

However is it a big rip- off of Mac OSX? Watch this video and I’m sure you’ll find it is not!!

Even if Vista is not a copy of Mac OSX, it is still not as goodas tiger, and leopard will blow vista away.

Urrrrr ubuntu. I used that for about a month, it’s hideous and the lack of a root superuser makes it more confusing than anything. And then there’s no make command, so how are you supposed to install things from source? What if they aren’t available through apt-get? And it comes with Gnome as the desktop interface as default, which is hideous and dumbed-down.

It’s all about SuSE and KDE.

so KDE is your thing, if you do ever want to try ubuntu again try kubuntu insted. its ubuntu with KDE as default interface (altho im a xfce kinda person)

and the make command can be added by installing build-essential package

I only put up with ubuntu for a couple of days before I grabbed the kubuntu packages :-P

And no distro should come without the make command. I mean come on, that’s like having to install add/remove programs.

    xfce is indeed sexy :-)

Oh, btw, what got you into ubuntu? If it was the free CDs then I left a load lying around the IC rooms before I left on the offchance someone would understand what they were.

it was just tiny (more than likely fixable) windows problems that made me think “fuck this shit”

i decided to use ubuntu because i know lots of people that use it AKA safety nets
